Obverse: Bust of Herakles wearing a lion skin over his head.

 

Reverse: Zeus seated left on backless throne, one leg drawn back, eagle held out in right hand, left hand holding sceptre, MH monogram in left field and horse’s leg symbol below throne; Philip’s name in Greek written in right field.

 

Die engraver: Unknown die engraver at the mint of Abydos.

 

Origin: The mint of Abydos in Asia Minor.

 

Materials and method: Struck in good quality silver from engraved dies.
