Materials: Enamel over brass
Representations: the area above the shoulder is decorated with multi-coloured butterflies; on the body there are what appear to be two ho ho birds; the lower part is decorated with various floral motifs.
Artist: Unknown – no maker’s mark on the base.
Origin: Japan
Dimensions: 18 cm high and 9 cm wide.
Date of creation: Possibly late 19th century or early 20th.

Other comments: There is a point of damage to the black enamel just in front of one of the birds. It has been blackened with high gloss paint and is smaller than a square centimetre.
