Mask in the form of a human face with a lobed and bulbous forehead, tongue protruding and a bird’s head and neck protruding from the chin (which could be used to hold the mask up to the face of the wearer).
 
Material: Wood, painted with natural ochres, cassowary feathers, natural fibres
 
Origin: Said to be from the Middle Sepik River region of Papua New Guinea
 
Maker: unknown
 
Age: Probably from the third quarter of the 20th century
 
Dimensions: 55 x 15 x 10 cm
 
Condition: Very good. Beard is pretty much intact, as is the ochre colouring.
